FIXO replaces baseboards, shoe molding and crown molding across Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC at one fixed price per linear foot. Old trim comes off clean, walls are prepped, and new profiles go on with coped inside corners and edges scribed to floors and ceilings that are never quite level. Most homes are done in one to two days.

Trim is judged at the corners. These three decide whether they stay tight.
Taller baseboards, 5 1/4 inches and up, suit rooms with 9-foot ceilings; 3 1/4 inches is the builder standard. Crown from 3 1/2 to 5 1/4 inches depending on ceiling height. We bring samples to the measurement.
Inside corners are coped so they stay closed when the house moves through the seasons. Outside corners are mitered and glued. Long runs are scarfed over a stud.
Finish nails into studs and plates, not just drywall, then every hole filled and every seam caulked so paint reads as one surface.
One visit to measure every run, one fixed number, one to two days to install.

Call, text or book online with the rooms and whether it is baseboards, crown or both. We book a measurement within 48 hours and bring profile samples.

A carpenter measures every wall, checks floor and ceiling flatness, confirms profiles with you and hands you one written price by linear foot.

Old trim removed and hauled away, walls patched where needed, new trim coped, scribed, nailed, filled and caulked, ready for paint.
Because it was mitered and nailed into drywall. Wood moves with humidity, a 45-degree miter opens as it does, and a nail with nothing behind it lets the whole piece drift. Coped joints and stud nailing fix both, and cost nothing extra when the carpenter knows how.
Old baseboards and crown are scored at the caulk line and pried off without tearing the drywall. Studs are marked and the walls patched where old nails pulled. New trim is measured wall by wall, coped at inside corners, mitered and glued at outside corners, scribed where the floor or ceiling dips, and nailed into studs. Holes are filled and sanded, seams caulked, and the trim is left ready for paint or painted as its own line.

Where we talk you out of it: crown molding in rooms with ceilings under 8 feet, which makes the room feel lower. There we suggest taller baseboards instead.
Trim replacement cost comes down to total linear feet, the profile and material, how many corners and doorways the runs have and whether we paint it. Your fixed price itemizes each one, and includes everything below.

Per linear foot by profile and material, with corners and doorways counted at the measurement. The quote shows each room.
Usually. We bring samples and match or source the nearest stock profile; custom knives are quoted when nothing stock comes close.
Yes, as its own line, or we leave it filled, caulked and primed for your painter.
After, and ideally on the same visit. New baseboards cover the expansion gap and avoid a visible line where old trim used to sit.
MDF gives a dead-flat painted finish and resists warping; wood takes nails better on uneven walls and can be stained. We recommend by room.
